ABOUT THE EVENT
Ward Creative Studios’ Black Women Empowerment: The Royals is the highly anticipated signature evening black tie event to celebrate Black advancement, joy, and excellence. This event is an enhanced experience and extension of my annual Black Women Empowerment Photoshoot – to uplift, highlight, and honor Black women in cultural and business spaces in the Greater Des Moines/Central Iowa area. It amplifies the unique experiences of the modern Black woman through relationships, entrepreneurship, development, health and well-being, and leadership. This signature event is a safe space for Black women to connect the Black woman experience across cultures, sectors, and generations. If you're a local Black woman who is 21+, you belong here!
THE EXPERIENCE
Venue
Hosted at the beautiful Bella Love Event Venue, and is Black woman-owned. This isn't your typical formal setup. Use the entire space to mingle, as leather lounge furniture and cocktail tables allow you to move and connect.
Entertainment
Singer/Songwriter and Des Moines native, Sharane Calister, will perform live music with her band throughout the evening. Enjoy the R&B and Soul vibes from this Season 14 The Voice contestant - placing 11th on the show.
Food & Beverages
No need to grab your own plate. You'll be served hor d'oeuvres and dessert shooters throughout the evening...and don't worry - vegan/vegetarian options are on the menu. Catering is provided by a local Black woman-owned business. Bar services provided by the venue.

Are there age restrictions?
Yes. Those who register must be 21+ to attend.
What is black tie/formal attire?
Sophisticated and elegant style. Commonly includes floor-length evening gowns or chic cocktail dresses, jumpsuits, or suits. Bring your own creativity to the scene. Bring your royal.
When can I register?
Registration will be open May 20 at 5:30 pm through July 29 at 11:59 pm, or until all tickets have been sold.
Where can I park?
Bella Love Event Venue has free and accessible parking just outside of the venue. No need to walk blocks away.
